Tips for an allergy-free pregnancy



It is natural for the human body to react in an adverse way to certain allergens, but it important to know when and where it happens. Studies show that one out of every five gestating women is prone to suffer from such conditions. The symptoms can disrupt your entire cycle and wreak havoc in your daily activities, night and day. There are a number of ways by which you can overcome these conditions, but the best way would be to identify potential causes and avoid them altogether. For many people it may seem that allergies and pregnancy go hand in hand. This is mainly because of the seasonal diseases that occur during certain times of the year. Pollen, animal dander, mold, etc. are the main reasons why the immune system of your body acts in an adverse way during this period. 

The first step would be to avoid contact with these types of allergens. After all, prevention is better than cure. There are number of steps that you can take to reduce allergies during pregnancy and outsmart them. Air-conditioning is a good way to keep pollen and dust mites out. Make sure you clean its filter at least once a month to keep fresh air in. Check the local news for information on the pollen count every day. Avoid venturing outdoors when the count is high. Don’t attempt to mow the lawn or rake leaves. Clothing and sheets should not be hung out to dry outdoors, rather, dry them indoors.
